NG112 changes what reaches the PSAP: not only voice, but potentially structured location, caller data, RTT, video, app data, vehicle data and transfers from other PSAPs. The PSAP side therefore needs workflow, display, recording, GIS and training changes, not just a new trunk.
What it does
A PSAP is the emergency answering center where calls or sessions are answered, assessed and coordinated.
The PSAP is the human and system endpoint for emergency intake and coordination.
How it works
- Receives emergency sessions from routing networks.
- Displays caller identity, callback, media and location.
- Coordinates dispatch or transfer according to national and local procedures.
