Presence Information Data Format - Location Object
PIDF-LO is a format, not a database and not a location-discovery protocol. It can describe civic fields, geodetic coordinates, uncertainty and usage rules. In emergency calling it is often paired with SIP location conveyance or delivered after a HELD query.
What it does
PIDF-LO is an XML-based location object used to represent civic or geodetic location information for emergency communications.
PIDF-LO gives emergency systems a structured location object that can be routed, displayed, logged and interpreted.
