Mobile Location
Mobile emergency location may come from cell information, GNSS, Wi-Fi positioning, handset emergency features, AML, IMS-related procedures or national platforms. Useful systems preserve source, uncertainty and timing instead of presenting every location as equally reliable.
What it does
Mobile location combines network-derived, handset-derived and sometimes app-derived evidence to locate a mobile emergency caller.
Mobile location feeds routing, PSAP display and responder guidance for the largest caller population: mobile users.
How it works
- Derives position from mobile radio, device sensors and platform capabilities.
- May produce civic, geodetic or hybrid location evidence.
- Updates may arrive before, during or after call answer depending on implementation.
