Border Control Function
BCF-like functions sit at trust boundaries between originating networks, ESInet domains and PSAP-facing networks. The function may resemble session border control, but emergency use adds routing, availability, logging and policy expectations that ordinary enterprise SBC deployments may not satisfy.
What it does
A Border Control Function protects NG112 network boundaries and controls emergency session interconnection.
The BCF helps secure and normalize emergency sessions as they cross organizational or network boundaries.

- Applies topology hiding, admission controls and protocol normalization.
- Supports secure transport and operational logging.
